Since the late 80s, I have coveted solid perfumes. They often lasted half the day or more and faded to a soft, yet luscious whisper. I was loyal to my favorites, but expanded my collection in the mid 2000s. Then, one by one, my favorite perfume companies discontinued their solid perfumes. I started special ordering them from Europe, but even those have become hard to come by. I do not like all the new perfume trends. The concoctions are all hype and I am tired of fragrances naming perfumes after scents that do not show up (but they swear is an opening note... etc etc.) I wanted scents that smell like what they are called, not a trending title that sounds like a bad pulp fiction sold by an influencer that has bought into the "vibe". If you have an hour, I will happily share my decade long hunt for a proper mimosa flower fragrance (very few even come close to a photorealistic offering).
My Vivistix purchase arrived this morning and each one of them is gorgeous! I have spent half the day wearing Blackberry Pear and it still smells like blackberries and pears. It has even taken on my own warmth and is exuding a lovely additional scent aura. I honestly find it to be ethereal. Fresh pear is one of my favorite scents, but you often see it treated like a gourmand; dressed up like an autumn dessert. This is not the case here. The pear is treated like a garden goddess surrounded by equally lovely berry notes.
I admire the packaging due to my own commitment to leaving less of a footprint. However, I would like to know exactly how much product is in the tube. Also, the tube is a type of paper product, so if your fingers have perfume on them, you will leave that residue on the tube. This may break down the tube over time, so be mindful.
The perfume is soft and creamy, so I worry that it may not hold up to a warm purse/pocket. I usually prefer tins for my solid perfumes, so we shall see how well the tube performs. I am definitely visiting the online store today to purchase more solid perfumes. I will be making my own sampler!
